Gdansk - Gdynia - Sopot

A city at the Baltic Sea which is worth visiting. Severely destroyed in World War the Second, it was splendidly rebuilt in the aftermath as one of Europe’s most beautiful port cities.
Gdansk offers a wonderful combination of beautiful architecture, historic monuments, the seaside resort atmosphere and the advantages of a modern city. This over 1000-year-old city has something for all tastes. And it is a perfect place for both a short holiday break and for a longer stay.

One Day in Tri-city of Gdansk, Gdynia and Sopot

Morning: Walking tour begins in the old part of Gdansk and takes you through typical narrow lanes, along Dluga and Dlugi Targ Street, to the Gothic Town Hall, Artus Court and Neptun’s Fountain. Artus House houses a branch of the Museum of History of Gdansk City. Neptun’s Fountain is a symbol of Gdansk. The tour continues to St. Mary’s Church, the world’s largest brick Gothic church in Europe, where 25 thousand people can be seated.
Visit Amber Museum to see both pieces of amber with intrusions and sophisticated jewelry are on display. The tour includes modern European history sites such as Gdansk Shipyard where the wind of changes started blowing and European Solidarity Center.
Afternoon: board a short cruise to Westerplatte Park to learn more about the history of the World War II which broke out on September 1st, 1939 with first shots hitting that place.
After a visit to the monument the tour continues to Gdynia, the youngest of Polish cities. It was built, from nothing in 1919, just after the World War the First. Wide avenues, squares and spacious public areas are comfortable to live in and enjoy the time. The highlight is a visit to the Emigration Museum which tells the stories of those who ventured new life in other countries.
Sopot is the last stop of the tour. Enjoy the atmosphere of the seaside resort, walk down the longest pier in Europe or stroll down to the beach. It has always been a fashionable resort and today some call it summer capital of Poland.
