Day 1

Warsaw

Meet with your guide at the lobby of your hotel and have a classic tour of Warsaw (up to 4 h), including the of Royal Route: Krakowskie Przedmiescie with numerous churches (among others: Holy Cross Church with Chopin’s heart kept in the pillar), monuments, historic buildings and palaces; and the Old Town area with St John’s Cathedral, the Old Town Market Square, the Barbican… entrance to the Royal Castle and visit  “Royal Route” (The Royal Castle was built in the 14th century as a wooden fortress for the Dukes of Mazovia, former royal residence of King Zygmunt III; Neo-Baroque rooms are filled with museum pieces, including period furniture, porcelain, tapestries, and oriental rugs).

Optionally, not included in the price: walk to the city center and visit the Palace of Culture and Science – the highest building in Poland; built between 1952 and 1955; it was a “gift of the Soviet people to the Polish nation”, offered by Joseph Stalin himself. The big attraction is a large viewing terrace on the 30th floor of the Palace (entrance) – with the excellent panoramic view…
